The centerpiece of this necklace is ocean jasper, known for its unusual swirls and color variations. The patterns in this particular stone reminded me of a branch with a leaf clinging to it, and the soft pinks within the gemstone made me think of fragrant cherry blossoms.
It is complemented on both sides by rhodhocrosite, and then small nuggets of Peruvian pink opal.
It is accented with mother-of-pearl, silver-plated filigree beads, and lead-free pewter spacers. It is finished with a sterling silver hook-and-eye clasp.
It is about 18 inches long.
